KIHOU
KIHOU
Bubble Lights
KIHOU is an indirect lighting fixture that utilizes two types of liquid and air bubbles. The ceramic vessel is filled with a highly viscous liquid, on top of which floats a thin layer of black-colored silicone oil. A small pump and LED are installed in the bottom of the vessel, creating a fantastical product with bubbles of light that bubble up and down on the surface of the black liquid. The rhythm of the bubbles, the unexpected fluctuations they add, the viscosity of the liquid and the lightness of the oil, and the mystery of the light leaking out of the jet blackness. These elements breathed life into this small cube and sublimated it into a product that resonates with some sense of attachment.
